Bo Bacot

Mr. Bo Bacot

Howdy! My name is Bo Bacot, and I’m excited to begin my second year teaching fifth grade at India Hook Elementary School. I hold a B.A. in English literature and an M.A. in teaching from Coastal Carolina University, as well as an M.A. in literary studies from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

I met my wife while attending school in TN, and we have been together for 15 years. We have two amazing and silly sons – our oldest is in seventh grade, and our youngest will be right across the hall from me this year in another fifth-grade class! My family and I moved from Knoxville, TN (go Vols!) to Rock Hill in 2021, and I have been proud to be a part of the India Hook family ever since.

Before becoming a fifth-grade teacher I worked a variety of jobs: from lifeguard to record store jockey, high school teacher to stay-at-home dad, short-order cook to substitute teacher, and many more in between. But one thing ties all of these, my all-time favorite jobs, together – the ability to help. A passion for helping others is what has drawn me to education and trying to help others grow is the cornerstone of my approach to teaching.

I love what I do, and I am especially proud to be part of such an outstanding team of educators here at India Hook. This school truly is a special place, and I count myself lucky every day to be a Pirate.
