Bo Bacot

Mr. Bo Bacot
Howdy! I’m Bo Bacot, Mr. B to most of the students, and if you are reading this, I’m likely your baby’s teacher this year. I look forward to working with your kiddo and you.
This will be my third year teaching fifth grade at India Hook Elementary School, but it’ll be my sixth overall year as a Pirate. I also worked for two years as a substitute here, and one year assisting our great reading specialists. A lifetime ago, I taught English at my alma mater, Myrtle Beach High School. I hold a B.A. and M.A.T. from Coastal Carolina University, and I have an M.A. from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
I’m a husband to an incredible wife, and a dad to two goofball boys. I’ve done a lot of things: lifeguard, record store jockey, video store guru, short-order cook, substitute teacher, screen printer, bookstore periodicals slinger, and much more. In all those jobs, there has been only one that I love more than teaching: the decade I got to spend as a stay-at-home dad.
When it comes to our classroom, each year’s crop of kids brings with it a new vibe and a set of young individuals who learn in ways as unique as they are. I will meet each day with my best effort to teach everything on the curriculum, and I will ask for nothing less than your child’s best effort in return. In the classroom and out, I’m a big believer in accountability, honesty, and forgiveness (especially to ourselves, as we are often our own worst critic).
We got this. And by “we,” I mean: me, your child, and you. I’m here to help. Let me know how I can best serve y’all.
